Knowledge and Expertise/What I need to know

 

Technical Skills & Knowledge

 

·         Trained and experienced with Siebel Financial Services 8.x (ideally Consultant Certified Expert):

o    Siebel Tools

o    eScript, VB, Browser Script

o    Workflow

o    EAI

o    EIM

o    Web Service Integration

o    Open UI

·         Strong SQL (MS SQL Server)

·         Application Development & Testing tools – such as Quality Centre, Visual Source Safe (VSS)

·         ITIL experience (desirable)

·         TOGAF or similar Enterprise / Solution Architecture certification (desirable)

·         Agile development framework experience (desirable)

 

Functional Competencies

  • Proven ability to manage IT suppliers in operational support and development activities
  • Ability to work on your own initiative whilst at the same time adhering to strict IT policies and procedures
  • Excellent customer facing skills, with a professional and helpful manner
  • Willingness to record, capture and document all tasks and projects without exception through the appropriate IT process/procedure
  • Good organisation skills with a logical, analytical approach to solving IT problems and the ability to prioritise work to meet demands and deadlines of both IT support and IT development

 

Experience

·         Demonstrate experience of leading Siebel development and support teams.

·         5 years’ experience developing and implementing Siebel solutions.

·         Significant web service integration experience.

·         Solution design and architecture.

·         Quality Assurance and best practice.

·         Siebel support, maintenance, development and upgrade experience.

·         Significant programming/coding experience such as with eScript/Java Script and VB Script etc.

Role Responsibilities/What I need to do

 

Application Development

  • Work with the Development Manager to ensure business requirements are defined and agreed, co-ordinating requests for enhancements and developments for FSCS IT controlled applications
  • Deliver development and enhancement activities in support of the business raised change requests and releases for FSCS application working closely with the CIO Teams, Partners and Suppliers
  • Solution architecture and design.
  • Quality Assurance, including quality planning and controls for both FSCS and Suppliers.
  • Advice and guidance to FSCS users in support of their application requirements.
  • Follow the FSCS IT Release Management process and control all IT application releases to the FSCS environment including:
    • Reviewing release planning
    • Discovery, documentation, resolution and escalation of release dependencies, risks and issues
    • Adherence to IT Change Management process and controls
    • Formal communications to management and stakeholders
    • Coordination of Environment and Configuration Management
    • Coordination of release delivery, including management of suppliers delivering IT changes and releases to the FSCS environment
    • Coordinate release approval and closure
  • Continuous improvement of software development lifecycle processes including delivery of release and test automation.

 

Application Support

  • Provide 2nd and 3rd line support across key FSCS IT controlled applications categorising, prioritising, triaging and progressing service requests, incidents, problems and changes which are logged with IT, in-line with industry best practices (i.e. ITIL)
  • Coordinate and direct suppliers where 3rd party suppliers are required to deliver the end-to-end application support capability, ensuring end-users are regularly updated on progress against their service request /incident /problem /change request
